Believe in yourself

The horse represents the most masterful form of earth energy. They provide us with the momentum so reliable and supportive you can ride on its back toward any goal no matter how difficult the terrain. Physical stamina and mental focus are the secret weapons behind the horse’s legacy.

After waiting for 15-years to ride horses again, I decided to start riding and it has never felt more right. It has been a learning curve for me to feel confident. Learn how to be your own cheerleader, telling yourself “I got this”. Horses have taught me to have confidence within myself, with patience and practice I can do anything.

Beyonce is my Superhero!

My horse trainer noticed my struggle one day in the field and said: “think of yourself as a superhero, who would you be if you can decide to be anyone right now?” The first word that came out of my mouth was Beyonce! She handed me the reins and said: “ok Beyonce take her to the barn.” It was as simple as me standing taller and taking the reins with assurance. Getting past my own fears with the horse felt like the hardest hurdle to overcome. What really stuck out to me is why would I be so nervous around horses, when I grew up running through fields with horses, riding bareback through trails, sneaking in the barn before school and riding. We as adults go through experiences that shake us to the point of not realizing we are afraid of the one thing that makes us the most proud. It was a turning point in my life to step up and stand up for myself for bigger reasons, and from that day forward I did just that and never looked back.

You got this

Finding ways to believe in yourself, you have the ability to do anything you set your mind too and trusting no matter what path you end up on is the right one. If you get thrown in the wrong direction, get back on the right one. Since that significant day with my trainer, I stopped allowing fear to get in the way and I became a stronger rider and person because of it.

Find the strength to build confidence, oftentimes it is where you least expect it. I have personally been touched by horses, learned lessons about myself I would never expect.
